Adobe has introduced the Firefly AI Assistant, a new tool that optimizes project management by integrating the capabilities of various Creative Cloud applications. The public beta version is expected to be available in the coming weeks, offering advanced features previously demonstrated as part of 'Project Moonlight'.
The Firefly AI Assistant interacts with popular programs such as Photoshop, Premiere, Lightroom, and Illustrator. Users will be able to formulate text commands that the assistant will process in the context of a specific task. For example, when editing product photos against a forest background, users can change the number of trees and foliage using a slider.
In addition to text prompts, the Firefly AI Assistant offers built-in control and action tools relevant to the project. The system will learn from user preferences, which will improve the quality of the solutions provided over time. Adobe also announced 'skills' for the assistant, allowing multiple steps to be combined into a single task, such as adapting images for social media with automatic optimization.
Amid growing competition from services like Canva and Figma, Adobe emphasizes its strong position in integrating existing tools. 'The Firefly AI Assistant will help eliminate the difficulties in mastering our extensive toolset and make them accessible to users,' noted Alexander Kostin, Adobe's Vice President of AI and Innovation.
Additionally, the company announced new features for Firefly, including video editing tools such as speech noise reduction and reverb adjustment, as well as integration with Adobe's stock image library.
