Anthropic has released a package of tools for institutional finance teams: Ten ready — to-run agent templates, Microsoft 365 add-ins for Excel, PowerPoint and Word (with Outlook support coming soon), new connectors to partner data, and an MCP app that embeds provider tools directly inside Claude. The company says the bundle is designed to let teams move Claude — powered workflows from proof — of-concept into production in days rather than months. This could speed analyst workflows and shorten integration timelines for banks, asset managers and compliance teams.
Each template is delivered three ways: as a plugin for Claude Cowork and Claude Code, and as a cookbook for Claude Managed Agents. Templates combine three technical layers — skills (task instructions and domain knowledge), connectors (governed access to source data) and subagents (specialized Claude models invoked for tasks like comparables selection and methodology checks). All plugins and cookbooks are listed in the financial services marketplace.
The ten templates split across research/client coverage and finance/operations. Research and coverage tools include Pitch builder, which creates target lists, comparables and pitchbooks; Meeting preparer for client and counterparty briefs; Earnings reviewer that works with transcripts, filings and model updates; Model builder to build and maintain financial models; and Market researcher to synthesize news, filings and broker research. Operational templates target finance and controls: Valuation reviewer checks models against comparables and methodologies; General ledger reconciler handles GL accounts and NAV calculations; Month — end closer automates close checklists, journal entries and close reports; Statement auditor performs consistency and audit — readiness checks; and KYC screener assembles entity files and flags escalations for compliance review.
The Microsoft 365 add-ins carry context automatically between applications so work begun in one tool can be completed in another without re-explaining inputs. For example, the Pitch agent used as a plugin can produce a comps model in Excel, draft a pitchbook in PowerPoint and prepare a cover note for Outlook — streamlining cross — tool workflows on the analyst desktop.
Connectors and the MCP app expand partner integrations: connectors provide Claude with governed, real-time access to a provider’s data, while MCP apps embed a partner’s own tools directly inside Claude for deeper, in-context operations. Anthropic recommends using these updates with Claude Opus 4.7, which it cites as state — of-the-art on financial tasks and reports leading the Vals AI Finance Agent benchmark at 64.37%.
For builders and compliance teams the cookbooks include production — grade primitives: long-running sessions for multi — hour processes, per-tool permissions, a managed credential vault and a full audit log in the Claude Console where engineering and compliance can inspect every tool call and decision. In both interactive (plugins) and autonomous (Managed Agent) modes, users remain in the loop to review and approve outputs before client delivery or regulatory filing.
