AWS Sales adds Field Advisor on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore to orchestrate: what developers gain

AWS Sales has built Field Advisor on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore to centralize orchestration of more than 20 domain — specific agents, aiming to reduce context‑switching and fragmented workflows for sales representatives. By routing queries, maintaining conversational context, and returning unified answers, Field Advisor lets reps interact in natural language instead of manually picking and combining outputs from multiple tools. Amazon Bedrock AgentCore provides the production — scale platform capabilities Field Advisor depends on: isolated execution environments for secure multi‑tenant operation, a unified gateway for tool and agent access across AWS accounts, persistent session and long‑term memory, consistent identity propagation via OAuth, built‑in observability across request flows, and integrated evaluation for continuous quality monitoring.

The project responded to a concrete operational challenge: AWS Sales had deployed more than 20 specialized agents across the global organization for CRM operations, meeting scheduling, customer insights, product recommendations, and compliance checks. Without a central orchestrator, representatives had to choose agents manually, manage fragmented context, and merge outputs themselves — tasks that reduced time available for direct customer engagement.

Field Advisor acts as that orchestration layer. It routes questions to the appropriate agent or tool, maintains conversation context across interactions, coordinates approvals for sensitive operations, and composes unified responses back to the representative. For CRM changes, the assistant surfaces proposed edits and waits for explicit human approval before committing updates, preserving accountability and preventing unintended or harmful modifications while still accelerating routine tasks.

Operational workflows addressed by Field Advisor include multi‑agent orchestration to remove cognitive overhead, embedded access inside CRM systems, Slack, and first‑party applications to reduce workflow disruption, and human‑in‑the‑loop checkpoints for critical actions. The assistant also uses context and memory to eliminate repetitive information gathering and retrieves knowledge from internal documentation to support product and technical queries. AgentCore Memory combines short‑term session history with long‑term semantic memory so representatives can pick up where they left off across sessions. By using Bedrock AgentCore’s built‑in services, the engineering team avoided building foundational infrastructure and instead focused on domain intelligence that improves customer outcomes.

AWS reports measurable results from Field Advisor, including faster, more informed responses to global sales needs. The platform’s observability and integrated evaluation tooling support continuous monitoring and iterative quality improvements for agentic flows as the service scales.
