Gitar launches: a new startup for code security with $9 million in funding

The startup Gitar has introduced its platform for code quality verification and management, attracting $9 million in investment. The main goal of the company is to address the issues arising from the chaos caused by AI-generated code.

Given the growing popularity of "mood coding," the startup Gitar is entering the market for the first time with an innovative platform that uses AI agents to ensure code safety and quality. The company's founder, Ali Reza Adl - Tabatabai, who previously worked at Intel Labs, Google, and Uber, noted that Gitar emerged as a response to the problems of "code overflow," when companies face enormous volumes of software.

Recent studies have shown that AI-generated code can lead to numerous errors that require correction by experienced engineers before being deployed in production. The Gitar platform provides subscription access to AI agents that conduct code quality checks and manage continuous integration.

Adl - Tabatabai emphasized "code validation," ensuring the reliability of the software used by companies. "While generation creates code, validation makes it reliable," he stressed, adding that Gitar takes control over the testing processes. The founder expects that in the coming years, automation will play an increasingly significant role in software development, suggesting that human code reviews will become a rarity. Companies will have the opportunity to rely on the Gitar platform to manage these processes.

Currently, Gitar is focused on issues arising after code writing, unlike many competitors that deal with code generation. The new investment of $9 million from Venrock and Sierra Ventures will go towards expanding the team and improving development to scale business processes.
