Google and Wiz pair AI and developer tools to accelerate multicloud security for CISOs

On May 15, 2026, Vinod D’Souza (director, Office of the CISO) and Anthony Belfiore (chief strategy officer, Wiz) summarized a fireside chat from RSA Conference describing how Google and Wiz are aligning to change multicloud security for CISOs. They said the technical partnership stitches Wiz’s cloud telemetry and developer tooling with Google’s AI and research to push toward near-real-time detection, automated response, and faster vulnerability resolution — shifts intended to reduce operational friction between security and engineering.

The technical approach pairs Wiz’s environment — mapping and telemetry with developer — focused features. Wiz’s graph analyzes cloud environments and ranks threat priorities in 15 minutes or less, and Wiz Code connects production issues back to repositories so developers receive granular, repo-level context that lets them fix vulnerabilities where the code is written.

The authors framed the move as a response to an increasingly multicloud, multi‑AI landscape in which developers build autonomous, agentic systems. They argued security must shift left into code and operate with much lower latency to match systems that can bridge resource gaps and perform real-time infrastructure healing. An early increase in alerts produced what they called a “signal tsunami,” overwhelming security teams that were forced to chase symptoms rather than address root causes.

Centering developers is a practical remedy: more than half of Wiz’s daily active users are developers, the post notes, and giving teams contextual, repo-level tools reduced remediation friction and increased resolution rates. The partnership aims to make it easier for developers to act on security signals directly, shortening time-to-remediation and reducing handoffs between security and engineering. Data and automation are central to the partnership’s roadmap. Wiz holds sanitized telemetry from multicloud environments that reflect secure, resilient, compliant deployments; Google contributes a global data footprint — cited as access to 90% of the world’s browsers and roughly 25% of fiber data-that can be correlated with Wiz telemetry to improve detection and automated response.

The teams described integrating technologies such as Gemini and Google DeepMind logic to move toward hyper — resilient, self-healing code and infrastructure, while underscoring that automated fixes should be paired with human oversight. For CISOs, the practical implications are concrete: a developer — first security model, shorter remediation cycles, and defenses that must operate at the speed of accelerating AI capabilities. The partnership signals a push to embed security into development workflows and to rely on combined telemetry and AI to make multicloud environments more responsive and resilient.
