Google introduces AI Mode for simultaneous work with the web.

Google announced a new feature called AI Mode, allowing users to simultaneously browse the internet and ask questions to AI in real-time.

On Thursday, Google introduced an update for its AI Mode, which enables Chrome users on desktop to open web pages alongside AI Mode. This solution aims to simplify the exploration of relevant sites, matching details, and asking questions while maintaining the context of the search.

Now, for example, when searching for a new coffee maker, users can describe their preferences in AI Mode and receive various options. When selecting a product, the corresponding website will open next to it, allowing users to ask specific questions, such as "how easy is it to clean this model?" AI Mode uses the context of the page and information from the web to respond.

Early testers noted that working with two windows significantly enhances focus and improves the study of long articles and videos, as there is no need to constantly switch between tabs. This, according to company representatives, makes the process more convenient.

A new solution for searching through already opened tabs was also introduced. Chrome users on desktop and mobile devices can use the new "plus" button in the search bar to select recently opened tabs for searching, allowing their context to be included in AI Mode queries.

For example, when exploring local hiking routes, users can add open tabs and ask questions about similar trails. This simplifies exam preparation, allowing for notes and lecture materials to be considered for explanations of complex concepts. The AI Mode updates are currently available in the U.S. in English, and Google plans to expand them to other regions in the future.
