Luma launches a content production studio using AI in partnership with Wonder Project.

The first project of the studio will be dedicated to Moses, featuring Oscar-winning actor Ben Kingsley. The premiere is scheduled for this spring on Prime Video.

The AI-based video generation startup Luma has announced the launch of a production company, Innovative Dreams, in collaboration with Wonder Project, a streaming service specializing in religious films and TV shows on Amazon Prime. The first project is "Old Stories: Moses" with British actor Ben Kingsley.

According to Luma, Innovative Dreams will bring together experienced filmmakers under the leadership of John Erwin and creative specialists from Luma to implement ambitious ideas in collaboration with major studios. It has also been announced that teams will be able to make real-time changes to sets, props, and lighting thanks to the company's tools.

Luma's technologies, known as Luma Agents, manage the entire content creation process—from text to image, video, and audio. According to representatives, the new system significantly enhances virtual production and performance capture, allowing for more efficient and cost-effective work.

Competitors are also actively using AI for production. For example, the startup Higgsfield has just launched an original sci-fi series, while the London-based studio Wonder Studios is developing a documentary in collaboration with Campfire Studios. Cristobal Valenzuela from Runway noted that studios could spend millions on a single film and instead create a larger number of films using AI.

Wonder Project, founded in 2023 by John Erwin and former Netflix executive Kelly Hugstraten, is focused on creating content with Christian values. Their first project, "The House of David," a biblical dramedy about the life of King David, will be released on Amazon Prime in 2025. It is unclear whether Innovative Dreams will focus exclusively on religious content or expand its activities.

In a video promoting the collaboration, Erwin spoke about the new technology of "flexible real-time shooting," which combines performance capture and virtual production. This approach significantly increases shooting efficiency by blending physical and digital elements.
