NVIDIA: Annual Spending with Taiwanese Suppliers Climbed to $150 Billion as Company Plans Major Hiring and Taipei Campus

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang said at a company event in Taipei that the firm’s annual spending with Taiwanese suppliers has jumped to as much as $150 billion, compared with about $10–$15 billion three to four years ago. The rapid increase reflects surging demand tied to the company’s AI-driven growth and marks a sharp change in the scale of its regional procurement and investment. As part of that expansion, NVIDIA plans to increase its Taiwan workforce fourfold, raising headcount from roughly 1,000 employees to about 4,000. The company described the move as “major hiring,” signaling a sustained local presence to support engineering, operations, and coordination with supply — chain partners in the region.

NVIDIA also unveiled plans for a Constellation campus in Taipei. Construction is scheduled to begin in late 2026, with a targeted completion date in 2030. The campus is positioned to consolidate the company’s Taiwan operations and support the larger workforce growth the company announced. Taken together, the spending surge, the hiring commitment, and the campus timetable illustrate how NVIDIA’s technology momentum is reshaping its footprint in Taiwan. The scale of supplier spending and the multiyear construction plan indicate extended demand and deeper integration with Taiwanese manufacturing and services as the company scales for AI workloads.
