On May 21, 2026 EY and Microsoft announced a global initiative backed by a joint investment of more than $1 billion over five years to help organizations scale AI enterprise‑wide and move beyond experimentation. The program pairs Microsoft engineering resources with EY industry teams to deliver measurable, enterprisewide outcomes for clients.
The initiative will field integrated teams of EY industry professionals alongside Microsoft Forward Deployed Engineers (FDE), applying Microsoft’s FDE AI‑native Hypervelocity Engineering approach to co‑develop secure, industry‑specific AI solutions. EY will act as “Client Zero.” It was among the first to adopt Microsoft 365 E7: The Frontier Suite, initially deployed Copilot to 150,000 employees and is now expanding Copilot across more than 400,000 people.
Work will span EY practices including Tax, Assurance, Consulting and EY‑Parthenon, with an emphasis on workforce upskilling, embedded change management and continuous optimization of agentic AI transformation. Teams will align by industry to accelerate deployment in core business functions and target clients’ highest‑value opportunities. Janet Truncale, EY Global Chair and CEO, said combining Microsoft’s engineering depth with EY’s industry knowledge and change‑management capabilities will help clients unlock value through rapid AI deployment. EY and Microsoft say the approach is intended to accelerate adoption, continuously optimize operations and drive sustained business value for clients.
