OpenAI has announced the introduction of new advanced personalization settings for its Codex tool. These updates are designed to give users greater control over the functionality and behavior of the AI assistant, making its work more efficient and tailored to the individual needs of developers. Access to these parameters is conveniently organized: they can be found in the lower-left corner of the Codex interface menu. The main goal of the innovations is to optimize the workflow, minimize distractions, and ensure maximum relevance of generated code and responses.
Among the key available options, the "Prevent Sleep Mode" function stands out, designed to prevent the computer from entering sleep mode during long-running tasks. This is especially relevant for programmers working on large-scale projects, compiling complex code, or generating extensive solutions, where interruptions can disrupt the continuity of the workflow. Another important setting is "Detail Level". It allows users to adjust the volume and format of the output information: from concise, direct commands and code snippets to a more elaborate, conversational format, which can be useful for understanding logic or for less experienced users who need detailed explanations.
Personalization features also extend to the AI's communication style. Users can now choose their preferred tone of interaction with Codex — for example, "friendly" for a more informal and supportive dialogue, or "direct" for brief and specific answers without unnecessary details. Furthermore, the ability to add custom instructions has been introduced, similar to how it is implemented in ChatGPT.
